Israel Mass Shooting: 1 killed, 10 injured in terror attack in Southern Israeli city of Beersheba

A stabbing and shooting attack at the central bus station in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba left one person dead and 10 wounded, according to first responders. Police said the woman killed was a border police officer.
The suspected assailant has been “neutralised” by security forces, The Times of Israel reported citing the police.
Israel is still battling Hamas a year after the group’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel, and has opened a new front in Lebanon against Hezbollah, which has traded fire with Israel along the border since the war in Gaza began.
The eyewitnesses told the news outlet the terrorist reportedly attacked civilians at three different locations within the bus station, alternating between knife attacks and gunfire.
According to Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services, at least 11 people were injured in the attack, including a 25-year-old woman who succumbed to her wounds.
The MDA said that five individuals have been listed in good condition after being hit by glass shards or blunt trauma, while three additional people were being treated for acute anxiety.
Israel has vowed to strike Iran itself after Tehran launched a ballistic missile attack on Israel last week, and Iran’s state media said some flights would be halted overnight until 6 a.m. Monday, citing only “operational restrictions.”
The widening conflict risks further drawing in the United States, which has provided crucial military and diplomatic support to Israel. Iran-allied militant groups in Syria, Iraq and Yemen have joined in with long-distance strikes on Israel.
