Russia offers to upgrade LADA class submarine with DRDO's AIP and Li-ion battery for P-75I program

The Deputy Director General of Russia's Rubin Design Bureau has said that the Project-75I submarine program of the Indian Navy is unrealistic at the current moment as the desired technologies sought in the RFI, cannot be made available within the strict timelines specified.

He also said that the submarine the Indian Navy desires, doesn't exist and that none of the current offers made by other contenders fits the desired capability of the Navy.

But he said India's Warship Design Bureau can work with Rubin Design Bureau to jointly develop an upgraded LADA class submarine that will meet all the requirements that can be integrated with the DRDO-developed AIP system and Next Generation lithium-ion battery system.
