DRDO Rustom-2 MALE UAV

Rustom-2 a Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) drone developed by Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) has conducted first external pilot assisted night landing.

This MALE drone features automatic landing and takeoff capabilities, it can operate beyond horizon with the help of satellite communication.

The drone can operate at an altitude of 28,000 feet and can remain in air for 18 hours with various payloads.

The UAV has met all the qualitative requirements and it is now ready for induction in service.

ADE has started integrating weapons on Archer drone, so it will be interesting to see if same approach will be used for Rustom-2 or not.
