DRDO starts development of NG-SLCM for Indian Navy Submarines

The DRDO's Naval
Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) is working on missile launch tubes
that will be used for the 1,500 kilometers range DRDO's Next Generation Submarine
Launched Cruise Missile (NG-SLCM).
NG-SLCM will have both anti-ship variant and land attack variant.
The Next Generation Submarine Launched Cruise Missile (NG-SLCM) will be based on the Nirbhay cruise missile powered by indigenous Manik turbofan engine.
Fabrication of 10 units of the submarine launched cruise missile have already started for development trials.
