Dhruti digital Radar Warning Receiver

The DRDO has transferred the technology of the Dhruti Digital Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) to Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for production, which is a state-of-the-art ultra wide-band six-channel digital receiver for fighter jets.

It detects radio emissions of radar systems like fire control radar of enemy fighter jet or from a ground-based radar system of enemy surface to air missile system, and shows it to the fighter pilot for action against those.

Digital Signal Processing techniques are exploited to replace complex RF and analog hardware. These techniques make the detection process more versatile, flexible and powerful against even the most complex radar signatures. Build-on fast response RF hardware, the dynamic Reception regime promises excellent probability of Intercept against variety of radars.

The system uses frequency domain detection processing based on Digital Filtering that offers very low Effective Noise Bandwidth, rendering the system highly sensitive and capable of providing very good Range Advantage Factor against all kinds of emitters. With greater Pulse Density handling capability and lower hardware complexity, power and weight vis-à-vis the predecessor systems, Dhruti DR118 is an ideal solution for the present and future challenges faced by military aircraft.
