Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd, a fully-owned subsidiary of Bharat Forge Ltd, India, is preparing to enter into a multi-party agreement with prominent American defense companies, AM General and Mandus Group LLC. The partnership aims to explore the joint development and production of next-generation artillery gun platforms.

As warfare evolves with near-peer adversaries, the need for modern, lightweight artillery systems with enhanced firepower, precision strikes, mobility, and advanced command and control capabilities is increasing. This collaboration intends to meet the demands of modern armies worldwide, equipping them with compact, lightweight, rugged, all-terrain 105mm and 155mm next-generation artillery gun platforms capable of operating in all weather conditions.

These advanced artillery systems will incorporate breakthrough technology, enabling rapid and survivable firepower, greater transportability, increased lethality, and reduced crew size, thanks to lower logistical demands. The 105-mm and 155-mm howitzers offered through this partnership will deliver high firepower and mobility while maintaining a lightweight and modular design.
