Navy ships 'Udaygiri', 'Himgiri' to be simultaneously commissioned on Aug 26

Source : The Economic Times Indian Navy will commission Udaygiri and Himgiri at Visakhapatnam on August 26. These are Project 17A stealth frigates. This is the first time two major warships are commissioned simultaneously. These ships can handle conventional and non-conventional threats. Project 17A is a follow-on to the Shivalik class. Udaygiri is the 100th ship designed by the Navy's Warship Design Bureau.
