SPARSH system to transform pension disbursal for 32 lakh defence pensioners

More than 32 lakh defence pensioners will benefit from the newly launched SPARSH System, said Devika Raghuvanshi, IDAS, Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA), on Monday. The SPARSH System, an initiative by the Defence Accounts Department, aims to simplify and expedite the pension disbursal process. During a special grievance redressal month in July, more than 21,000 cases of family pension were resolved. This system addresses pension-related issues more efficiently, ensuring timely payments to beneficiaries.Addressing Grievances
At the inauguration of a newly constructed community hall and transit accommodation in Army residential quarters at Nandambakkam, Devika Raghuvanshi highlighted the department’s modern initiatives. The establishment of a centralised processing centre in Prayagraj has significantly improved the speed and efficiency of grievance redressal. Raghuvanshi personally interacted with defence pensioners and family pensioners, listening to their concerns and assuring them of prompt resolution.

Financial Support to Family Pensioners
During the event, CGDA distributed cheques amounting to Rs. 30 lakh in arrears of pension to various family pensioners. This gesture underscores the department’s commitment to supporting the families of defence personnel.

The event was attended by prominent officials, including T Jayaseelan, IDAS, Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA), Chennai; Brigadier Gaurav Atreya, Chief Engineer of Chennai Zone; and Brigadier Karthick Ram Mohan, Commandant of Military Hospital Chennai.
