Indian navy issues RFI for 21 indigenous New WaterJet Fast Attack Craft (NWJFAC)

The Ministry of Defence, intends to procure 21 (Twenty One) NEW WATERJET FAST ATTACK CRAFTs Indigenous (NWJFAC) for the Indian Navy from registered Indian Shipyards. The NWJFAC would be constructed in a phased manner over a period of 04 years (2026-2030).

The NWJFAC should be capable to carry out local naval defence, seawards defence of defended ports, offshore installations, vital areas and vital points. NWJFAC will have a 35 knots maximum speed for interception, an endurance of 2000 nautical miles and stowage capacity for 10 rifles and two LMGS (Light Machine Gun System), 8 Very Short-Range Air Defense (VSHORAD) system and 3000 rounds of 30 millimeters Naval Surface Gun.
