New Delhi: The Defense Ministry has denied reports that said India has lost access to part of its land in Eastern Ladakh at the Line of Actual Control (LAC). It has been said by the Indian Army that India has not lost any part of its land in the disputed areas. Patrolling on both sides has definitely been stopped in some areas, but in such areas, our technical presence is as much as that of the Chinese Army. The statement from the Army came after reports that India had lost access to 26 out of 65 patrolling points in eastern Ladakh.

It is noteworthy that PD Nitya, a senior police officer of Ladakh, had said in a report that "At present there are 65 PP (patrol points) from Karakoram Pass to Chumur, which are to be regularly patrolled by the ISF (Indian Security Force). Out of 65 PPs, 26 PPs (i.e. PP No. 5-) have lost our presence. 5-17, 24-32, 37 have lost presence due to no patrolling by Indian security forces."

Report was filed last week

The report was filed last week at the annual conference of the country's top police officers in Delhi, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. It was stated that "Later, China will force us to accept the fact that these areas have not seen the presence of ISF or Indian nationals for a long time. The Chinese were present in these areas. This will lead to a change in the border controlled by ISF. "Buffer zones" are created around all such pockets by the Indian side. India will eventually lose control over these areas."

"Affects the morale of the Army"

The officer wrote, "The PLA has taken advantage of the buffer zones in the de-escalation talks by placing its best cameras on the highest peaks and monitoring the movement of our security forces... They object to our movement even in the buffer zone." .the Chinese claim it is their territory and then ask us to go back to create more 'buffer' zones." PD Nitya had said in his report that this Chinese strategy was seen in the Galwan Valley. Where violent clashes took place in 2020, when 20 Indian soldiers and at least four Chinese soldiers were killed in a hand-to-hand fight. Nitya also said that marking areas out of bounds and keeping them empty also affects the morale of the Army.
