The DRDO's Combat
Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) has been developing an Unmanned
Ground Combat Vehicle (UGCV) based on the Arjun Mark 1A-tracked combat platform
with the 120 millimeters main gun as the primary weapon.
As per the latest information by Alpha Defense, private sector firm Data Patterns is developing an autoloader for the unmanned Arjun tank which will extract the shell and propellant charge from the ammunition storage rack and will load it into the chamber of the gun.
The unmanned Arjun will also use the DRDO-developed indigenous geographical information system to provide the operator with a visual perspective of the operational terrain and generate a feasible route for the unmanned vehicle to reach the target location.
