India is undergoing talks
with European firm MBDA for the local manufacturing of the Scalp cruise Missile
which is also known as ‘Storm Shadow’ that the Indian Air Force has acquired as
part of the weapons package of 36 French Dassault Rafale fighter jets.
The Indian Air Force plans to integrate the 560 kilometers range Scalp cruise missiles in Tejas Mk 1A, Tejas Mk2, and the AMCA 5th Gen stealth fighter.
The Scalp is a stealth cruise missile that is designed to avoid radar detection and to hit high-value and densely protected targets deep inside enemy territory.
Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL)
and MBDA might join hands for the local manufacturing of the Scalp cruise
