Indian Air Force to eventually replace Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fleet with 6th Generation fighters around 2040-45

The Indian Air Force plans to upgrade Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets with Made in India  Avionics, AESA radar and weapons so that they remain relevant till 2045, after which the Su-30 fleet will be replaced with a Sixth Generation Heavy-class fighter jet.

India has already started metal cutting of 5.5th Generation AMCA Stealth Fighter jet and officials have said that the focus will start shifting towards Sixth Generation successor from early 2030 onwards.

The United States, China, Britain, Japan, France and Germany have started their work on Sixth Generation fighter jets either alone or in partnership with another country that will go into production between 2035 to 2045 and it is important that India also starts preliminary research work on Sixth Generation fighters so that it can become a reality by 2045.

Sixth Generation Stealthy fighters to incorporate many new technologies evolving in this century of technology including Artificial Intelligence (AI), powerful engines with  minimal exposure to Anti stealth radars and above all the stealthy shape and design of the aircraft that will be completely different from current generation of fighters including 5th Generation Stealth Fighters.
