IgMp has
earlier reported in June 2022 about Project Vishnu to our readers, and you all know that the
DRDO has already demonstrated Hypersonic combustion of Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator
Vehicle (HSTDV) for more than 20 seconds at a speed of two kilometers per
second (Mach 6) in its previous test.
And now the DRDO is all set to conduct the test of the full-scale scramjet combustor for 100 seconds from the High Enthalpy Ground Test Facility of National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) in Bengaluru.
It will initially be tested for 100 seconds and later it will be increased to 400 seconds which will be increased up to 600 seconds and achieving 1000 seconds will be the final goal that will lead to the development of two Long-Range Hypersonic Cruise Missiles under ‘Project Vishnu’ that will include a 2,500 kilometers range surface-to-surface hypersonic cruise missile and an air-launched hypersonic cruise missile with a range of over 700 kilometers.
