Indian Authorities have urged Russian counterparts to deliver on some key projects that have already been signed that includes S-400 air defense system and local production of 6 lakh Ak-203 rifles.

Amid the delay of implementation of Russian Ak-203 manufacturing in India, a joint venture of Adani group and Israeli Weapon Industries (IWI) known as PLR systems has offered the latest generation Galil ACE 7.62 x 39 millimeters rifle as a replacement for the Russian Ak-203.

The weight of the Galil ACE generation 2 has been reduced with the use of modern polymers and it is compatible with Ak-47 magazine and has side folding adjustable telescoping butt stock under a contract signed in August 2021 for undisclosed number of units.
