DRDO made AIP for Indian Navy Kalvari class submarines |
IgMp has
earlier reported that some of the contenders in the Indian Navy's Project-75I
don't have a sea proven AIP system and technologies like lithium-ion batteries
that have forced them to quit the competition, while other contenders didn't
want to transfer the technology to india to safeguard their intellectual property
rights.
The Former Financial Advisor of Acquisition in the Ministry of Defense Amit Cowshish has questioned that why did the Ministry shortlisted the foreign companies which don't have a proven AIP system and it is clear that all the five shortlisted companies misrepresented that they possessed the required AIP technology.
India has the option to change the Request For Proposal (RFP) by deleting the requirement for AIP system altogether but later the selected foreign company must extend all support in the integration of the DRDO developed modular AIP system in the submarines they offer to build in India.
