Indian Navy ropes in NewSpace to work on Future Drone combat systems

Bangalore-based start-up NewSpace Research and Technologies Pvt Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Indian Navy, under which both have agreed to explore the development of future combat and drone systems. NewSpace Research and Technologies Pvt Ltd is also working with the alliance of US Air Force Research Labs, the Indian Air Force, and the Indian government’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in the development of air-launched drones project.
Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) of the US Navy Admiral Michael Gilday who is on a three-day official visit to India also interacted with Sameer Joshi of New Space Research &Technologies Pvt. Ltd where both countries have signaled further deepening of cooperation on next-gen tech between both countries.

Indian Army recently placed orders worth over Rs 200 crore for Swarm drones with NewSpace Research and Tech and Noida-based firm Raphe. NewSpace is also working with HAL in the development of the Combat Air Teaming System program under which it plans to develop Air-Launched Flexible Asset Swarm (ALFA-S) loitering munition, high altitude pseudo satellite called CATS Infinity, air-launched cruise missile called CATS Hunter, and loyal wingman drone called CATS Warrior.
